Question Cracked Rear Wheel - Looking to replace

The slow leak I had was found to be caused by a crack in the rim. Quoted replacement cost is $375 for the 19", 15 spoke, machined silver alloy Rear SRT. I told them to let me check into what I might be able to find first.

So I've been checking prices on the net and have found prices ranging from $200 to $500 but wondered whether others have had good experience in replacing.

Is repairing the crack even a consideration that can be done with confidence?(Maybe an option to keep the old one too).

Thanks

I guess it depends how and where it is cracked to have it repaired. I have great confidence in my local shop that repairs wheels. They wouldn't repair the wheel if they didn't think it would be safe. If you are unsure of getting it repaired, buy a good used one and keep your mind at ease.

Replaced one of mine with a new one from Ebay.. not an OEM... made in China, but has worked well and finish matches.

I had a slow leak on a 19" Limited wheel. They welded it and its been no problem for about a year. I don't know the exact location of the crack or the size. Cost me around $50.
