Default Best mods

I had bookedmarked a thread on here for the best 10 mods you can make for the buck or something like that and lost it.

I can't seem to find it using the search process.

Does anyone know where it is? I have some time this winter to work on the engine and wanted to look the post over for suggestions.

Thanks
Brian

If its a srt6,10 is overkill try 3 intake, tune, pulley,or do like me buy a modded 6 and start from there either way you can't go wrong.

I don't remember how many suggested mods were in the post but it was something like the best mods you can make.

My car is stock and I'd like to improve the performance and keep it street legal in NJ.

I'm thinking Eurocharged SC pulley, ECU and TCU package.

I'd like opinions on the air intake, I realize more air is better but from what I read on here the air intake significantly changes the sound of the motor and it gets a whine to it.

Thanks for the reply

You likely haven't received many responses yet b/c this topic has been covered ad-nauseum in this forum. The search function will give you hours of reading on the preferred mods of many of the senior members on here.

I am not as intense as some other members on here with modding but have done some of the basic mods that will really bring the SRT6 alive without spending more than $1K.

Needswings single cold-air intake (CAI) - it does create a whine at 2,500RPMs and up but it is a pleasant sound - not annoying

Eurocharged ECU Tune (if you can splurge for the TCU tune at a later time do it but I have been happy so far far with just the ECU tune)

I put a SprintBooster on mine which I like a lot but it doesn't add speed it just changes "seat of the pants" feel.

If you want performance without changing the sound that the car makes then just wash the car weekly. It will make it go faster by reducing the friction.
The intake does not alter the sound of the motor. It changes the sound that SC makes. You will mainly hear it at near WOT. If that sound offends you then modifying cars is not for you. No offense but that's just how things work. so, to repeated: intake, SC pulley and tune. Where in NJ are you?

Thanks for the laugh! I wash it more than once a week, it's a labor of love.

I'm in Monmouth County by the beach.

Regarding the whine I just don't want to draw the wrong attention to my ride when I open it up.

Sorry for asking this question again. I read a lot of the articles on Mods here prior to making this post.

The one post I was looking for had it all laid out and that's why I saved it. Just can't figure out where I put it.
Thanks
Brian

Yes, no tune would be necessary (but a tune would further improve performance).

A tune wouldn't be necessary... I would not do a tune until everything you want to do to it is done. Cold air intake, the noise it makes isn't that bad at all, get over that. There are members on here who exhaust note is louder. The pulley, a 65mm supercharger pulley, and then, IF you are done adding "go fast" parts, get you a tune. The car will definitely run a lot better. Sometimes the tune will take the lag out of the throttle on start up, sometimes adding a sprint booster is necessary...

Great - thanks for the tips. Re: noise - I actually WANT my supercharger louder, I am hoping the intake will assist with this
