I have one of these. Was planning to put on front of Heep (am way up there in the middle of the air).
My wife uses a sound system that is even cheaper, she backs up until she hears a noise.

That looks like the same thing. The roll is unwound and adheres to the inside of the plastic bumper. Have not studied how it works but imagine similar to motion sensing light switches & senses a flux in the ether.
