Default High Oil indicator

I've read most of the threads pertaining to the High Oil level Indicator on the odometer. Mine has beeped once a week ago, stayed on for about 10 seconds and gone off. Brought the car back to the garage that changed the oil with Mobile 0W40. They drained the oil and added it back in. Told me it was right on the level. Nothing foreign in the oil either. Has gone off one more time since I got the car back. The level looks high to me when I pull the dipstick. Is a bad sensor common in an SRT6 with 18k miles?

How much oil did they put in? If the dipstick level looks high and the indicator states high, I'm guessing the obvious.............

The garage said it was on the level but you say it "looks" high on the dipstick. If it is actually high on the dipstick, then I doubt your oil sensor is going bad - sounds like its doing its job.

How high above the full line is the oil?

It's just above the max level indicator on the dipstick. The mechanic told me that the high level sensor will be triggered if the oil was a quart or more over. I don't think it's that much over. Drove the car about 100 miles today with no issues. I'm tempted to drain a half a quart or more and keep it between the dipstick min and max lines.

I have the same thing happen periodically on my roadster, mostly during long road trips. I say if it checks out on the dipstick, just accept it. It could be the sensor being flakey or oil expansion (I guess it could do that as a liquid). Remember in the good old days you would go by the dipstick and not this high tech crap that does not always work. Same issue with tpms - I still manually check the air pressure and do not rely on the sensors.
