OK i replaced the alternator win it went out and then a week later my battery died so bought a new battery put it in and when i turn the key it just this clicking noise like what you get when your battery is dead but its not its new ...checked the lights nice and bright and everything else works, but the car wont start??? any HELP please....

 

Even though it is a new battery, did it come fully charged?

 

yea i thought the same thing batterys no good so i took it back and the parts guy and he was saying that he has come across some MBs that you have to reset the electronics on the car... soooo we tryed that and it works fine now.....i don't understand it but it worked im thinking i may have another problem and it just happen to fix it at the same time

 

Explain what you did to reset the electronics. Disconnect the negative battery cable for a period of time?

 

yes.... he had me disconnect the neg and then turn the key to the on position for a few Min's and then we turned the key off & hooked the neg back and it started right up 1st try.....

 

I would be thinking less than stellar battery connection. Are they good and clean.. connection for ground at fender?

 

yes sir they are all very clean and my cables look fine ....thank you for you input...... sense we reset my car it starts everytime so far but thats the 1st time i have head of reseting the elect. it most have something to do with the PCM maybe??.....but im thinking maybe i should keep an eye on my starter?...

 

Well okay.. just real odd as no one has mentioned doing this before.. and I've changed the battery in my 04 and wife's 05 without a glitch.
