Nice looking setup, Chris. And ditto on what Steve said.

Thanks for the kind words ... while your opinion means more than most, I imagine you'd tell me it looks great under any circumstances cuz that's the kind of buddy you is

Now, in your case, the scatter-shield design would be much simpler. Essentially, it would be a lock for your wallet to shield you from scattering your money all over in a futile attempt to make your porch faster than Grip's CL65 !!!

I finally got the finished Scatter-shields this afternoon ... and I picked up the newly machined hardware from the plating shop yesterday. So it is just about shipping time. I was hoping the cost of the new hardware would be low enough so I could "eat it" and not be forced to raise the price AND ... it looks like that will be the case. So for those on the "List" the price will still be the original price I indicated ($85) and for those who want one later, the price will be $95. I will keep the list open until Monday, and then it will be closed (and the price goes to 95)

I still want to (and will) inspect and test fit them (every one) this weekend and I expect I will begin shipping on Monday.

Installation is a breeze, but my good friend Grip suggested I make a quick video of the install, so I will try to do that as well this weekend.

I will be contacting those on the list this weekend to confirm desire and make shipping arrangements, etc

Cheers,
Chris

I will be mostly emailing (and Pm'ing for those whom I have no email for) ... Of, course, you have my number Doc, so you can call if you have any questions.

Let's try to go easy on Steve ... you know it's his chronic bad fortune that makes the rest of us feel so lucky

i have always been faster than grips cl65 just not faster than grip! wallet exploded on the last build. saving up the needed funds for the next phase, 800 rwhp and full standalone with the proefi. hope for a june trip to my builder in long island early July

doc if you ever stop trucking and go racing you could meet chris at our half mile events. (deep down he wants to convert from a cali guy to a redneck and move south!!)

+1 on Steve's porch being faster. That beast is trapping with AMX's crazy V8 XF. My lazy CL is only trapping 124 on its best days.

In any case, it sure is a beautiful car .... and it sounds like a million bucks (even though you don't even have half that much into it ... yet ) I am definitely gonna have to take that beast for a short spin next time I'm out there !

Cheers Buddy !

Chris

I just finished inspecting and test-fitting all of the scatter-shields and they are ready to go.

I uploaded an install video on U-tube that illustrates the simplicity of the install while clarifying some install details.
if anyone has trouble viewing this, please let me know.

cheers,
Chris

Nice work as usual. Nothing like working on an AMG with another AMG in the background. Baller!

nice video chris. as an add on if you pull the rad fan out ( one plug 2 clips) it will make getting to the small bolts and the tensioner much easier

That is a good point Steve. however, since I have an IC reservoir mounted to my fan shroud (on both of the SLK32s), it doesn't make sense for me to pull the shroud.... But for others it may make it easier.

In any case, the whole install takes less than 5 minutes ...

Thanks Philip,

2 scatter-shields are on their way to you. I just sent you the tracking number for your free 2-day USPS priority shipping.

Those numbers on the [left] plenum are the miles and date of the last time I changed the oil and filter ... having a few different vehicles that I drive regularly, I find that an easier way to keep track of when and how much mobil 1 to buy : )
