Default Hood insulator/blanket

Curious if you guys remove the under hood blanket on your SRT-6 to clean up the looks a bit? Kind of torn on removing mine or keeping it on.

^Aftermarket one to show what I am talking about.

I am sure it muffles sound from your engine bay quite a bit.

The hood insulator is also fire resistant and if your engine somehow catches on fire it will help blanket the fire. The pins will melt and it will drop on the engine. But of course if your engine is already on fire you have some other major issues to deal with.

The cover keeps heat IN your engine bay though. Not sure how much.

So there are both pro-s and con's. I know the SRT-4 Neon did not come with a hood insulator with no heat issues causing the hood's paint to bubble. But then again there is a factory hood scoop to help keep things cool.

Unless you did read what I read correctly and are curious about the SRT-4 factory air induction hood scoop.

Took mine off and pitched it. No noticeable difference, maybe a little more good engine sound. Others have done same. The one you show in the pic, I don't think is available anymore. The one from Chrysler is way expensive and is junk.

Yes, how true. The gentleman that was providing those has passed away I believe.
My OEM one is still holding up nicely, however I'd like one of those with the logo.

Good to know. Yeah I always google search crossfireforums before posting. I found some posts but they were not SRT-6 specific on the insulator. That aftermarket one caught my eye and looks good, so I used to as an example.
