I agree with Danny. His does sound great and recordings don't do it justice. I have considered doing myself. BTW, he still has the tips looking OEM.

They're on the boat on the way over . Did some measuring etc. to see how they would fit, and did a little photo work to make sure the wife was going to like it.

Don't think she would care for straight piped to them so going to go with one of these..

Cherry Bomb EXTREME Muffler 7425CB 4 inch x 9 3/4 inch OVAL, Center/Dual

Anxious to see how it sounds when done.

Seems all the ladies on the facebook page like the idea too..

In Atlanta, you can get rid of the resonator and pass, you will not pass if they do a visual inspections for your cat's. The emission testing sites I use dont do the visual inspections they just run the OBD and if it passes that is that. I

U should be fine passing emissions if u only delete the secondary cats. I would like to think that emissions facilties dont have a booklet of each make and model telling them how many cats each one has. I say that because if u keep the primary cats, all u have to say is "what are u talking about my cats are right here"

You are correct, I know in atlanta some will look for a cat as long as they see one it passes the visual inspections, some dont look at all and just run the test.

Here in Baltimore MD., their "visual inspection" consist of them walking around the car with a mirror on the end of the stick. The part that cracks me up is most of the inspectors are in their early 20's so they scroll thru facebook on their phone while they walk around the car with the mirror in their hand. They only go thru the motions for the cameras. I could prob pass with only having exhaust manifolds lol.

Talking Re: Delete resonator or muffler?

I took off the muffler and used an f350 exhaust pipe from summit racing all stainless steel and similar center to center spacing of pipes. Enjoy. WDY

My gallery shows the opening of the muffler and testing of the empty canister, no improvement.

hope its ok to resurrect an old thread .

trying to decide between deleting just the muffler or just the resonator . don't want to remove the cats .

can anyone explain the difference in sound with one or the other ?

does the exhaust drown with the resonator re moved ?

if you remove the muffler what do you use for the tips ? exhaust comes to that area off center.

thanks

No real drone. Have over 60K miles on this mod and to me it's just right.

Not too loud while cruising - Roars when the pedal hits the metal!

I had the rear cats deleted and an X-pipe put in place of them.
Now it a has much Deeper note , burbly and slightly louder than stock, plus it picked some power too.
afaik, The rear cats are really only there to meet California emissions .

True about the rear cats being removed. I passed the emissions here in Jersey without them. And I loved my car without the resonator too by replacing it with a Y pipe. Very little drone...Just what I liked.
