Kinda getting my technique honed in from the first pillar i made for myself. Im jealous that his turned out vetter than mine haha. He suggested i start making them for other members (for a fee) but i dont know about all that. "JR Industries" set the bar pretty high for me and my (lack of) resources. Happy friday.

Those look very nice and I'd bet after a couple more, you'll have them looking prefect. Dual gauge pods are cake but the triple is a straight up PITA to get perfect. Congrats on a job well done.

 

You are absolutely right about that! And thank you for the compliment. I tried to do a 4 gauge pillar for myself as i wanted to add an oil pressure gauge-physically impossible. I just kept my glass full of long island ice teas and zoned out with a piece of sandpaper i need to come up with another location to add another gauge or 2 that doesnt look cheesy and looks factory. Ive seen someone had a gauge fabricated into the console where the change drawer comes out. I like the idea of mounting a dual gauge holder above by the rear view. Obviously keeping tastefulness in mind.

 

How about a pod on the center of the dash kinda like the mustang boss 302's have.

 

That would be cool. My only reservation with that is where to route the gauge wires. My pickiness wont allow me to just run the gauge wires out the back of the pod and ran along the window defrosters. Only other option would be till drill holes in the top of the dash and i dont wanna go that route. But i agree it would be a good location otherwise.

 

Sometimes, to make an omelet, you need to break a couple of eggs. That said, I have seen the pictures where a couple of people have mounted gauge pods center of dash above the A/C outlets. I didn't see any conduits for cables so I guess they drilled a hole (or holes) into the dash. If your intent is to remove them later and restore the car to OEM, you may have to limit the location and size of the holes and plug or cover them. I personally like the location but don't have the will to install anything (lost that initiative many years ago). Have fun, your quite talented in creating those things you wish to install!
