Default Battery Light

On my 2005 SRT6 the battery light comes on when I hit the peddle hard. I haven't had a chance to check the output of the alternator, but I'm not getting the battery/alternator light in normal driving.... Any suggestions?

Not sure but is it possible the belt is slipping?

I second that. Check the pulleys/tensioners.

Check battery cables too.

Wouldn't the alternator still be spinning at that high of an RPM? It's not like it would be stopped. I will check though. Plus the cables...Thanks

It's also possible the alternator bearing is starting to go bad causing the belt to slip at higher RPMs.

Do these alternators have the overrun clutch on them? I know my 2002 Town and Country had it. Typically those get very noisy long before failing.
