I found a disconnected hose today while trying to track down an intake leak.
Its located immediately next to the middle cowl drain and thought that was it was at first. Anyone know what it is?
If you are talking about the tiny little hose, not the big hose from the cowl drain, then it feeds over to under the battery tray and enters thru the firewall.
It supplies vacuum for the air diverter for A/C or heat in the car.

There is a hose that comes from the firewall and it is the hose that water under the cowl drains out of. It drops the water onto the top of the bell housing.

I poured water in the cowl and nothing came out of that hose but did out of the one right next to it.
You should remove the cowl cover, there are 3 drains under there and sounds like at least the center one is clogged. Water will start leaking into the cabin behind/above the glove box.

There are actually four drains under the cowl, if water goes into the holes in the center and closest to the windshield it comes out one drain, if it goes into the holes toward the front of the car on the other side of that separator it will come out another hose.
The other drains are at each end and exit behind the fenders just in front of the doors.
If he was to pour water into the side he did not pour into last time he will see water come out of that fat hose. I think it came out of the drain that does not look like a hose last time.
Everyone should peek down behind the rubber toothed barriers at each end of the cowl and see the drain holes at each end. My car is lightly used but the passenger side hole was covered in small leaves, it would not have been long before finer debris was filtered out and blocked the hole.
