Leaking oil out of...
Leaking oil out of...
Xfire finally out of storage after a 5yr hiatus (yikes), and after doing a bunch of maintenance and getting the car smogged (ugh) I noticed I was leakin' a bit of oil out of the block. It's right below the oil fill cap. I sifted through a bunch of "oil leak" posts on the forum, but I didn't see much.
Anyone have an idea what this could be? I have to rip the manifolds back off to install new gaskets and I thought I'd address the problem at the same time. Pic attached.
Thanks and glad to be back

Yep, looks like it. Thanks for the PDF link, got myself a DIY for next weekend.

AND, pay close attention to the torque on those screws. If I am not mistaken, they may need to be replaced. If not, make sure you do not 'overtorque' them (very low setting in the inch pounds).

The torque setting for the steel screws on the valve covers is 8 N.m = 71 in-lb = 6.0 ft-lb (7 ft-lb in our Service Manual).
