Default Rear Differential plug size

I want to change the rear diff fluid. I have looked everywhere but in the right place. I can not find what size torx bit do I need for the fill plug. I have a T55 and it looks 2 sizes larger(T70) This would save me a lot of time knowing so.

According to chuk_138 :
Two plugs, 14mm hex. Fill plug is on the driver's side, drain on passenger. Takes about 1.6 liters. Just have it on a level surface when refilling it, all the way to the fill plug opening.
You can Amazon it :

The rear cover is reverse torx, but both my fill and drain plugs are the normal big hex...

The drain is a smaller torx, forgetting what size. The fill is definitely bigger. What do you mean reverse? Are you saying it is a left hand thread?

Could you please post some pictures ?
Everything I have been able to find on MB forums or elsewhere says the plugs are 14 mm HEX, both NA and SRT6.

I WILL get under the car later. The only possible thought is, I bought the car a year ago. I didn't know a Wave Track Differential had been installed till I saw the sticker next to the differential. I would not understand the plugs being changed from hex to torx.

If you carefully grind .005 off each of the six faces of a 9/16" (.562) hex wrench you can make your own in a pinch.

You all are correct. It is a 14 hex, it was difficult to see and get a good grab on it with the rust. They are both out and draining. Thanks for the best info out there.

Dave, both links don't work (where you have the CLICK).

That is funny because I checked them at the time and they worked. I just did them again, the size is in the Pelican Parts How To.
It is a good job I remembered it was done by harbor or it would have taken ages to find.

And I would guess that we don't have to warn you to always remove the filler plug (top) first, right?

I used this kit from Harbor Freight to get the 14mm & 17mm hex heads for the diff & tranny.
Runs $14 and you can get a 20% discount coupon from various publications.
