A Performance Bargain ?
I was just reading on Road&Track today about what a great performance bargain the C5 corvette has become ,so i had a look at the C5 vs the SRT-6 performance via a duel on Zeperfs.
Hah, R&T needs to do some further research!
the SRT-6 beat the C5 easily , No contest
Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 vs Chevrolet Corvette C5 5.7 A : Duel 1263126

I think as a entry level car that can do everything they are right. The main thing the c5 vette has is a much larger aftermarket, and you can get it as a manual. They are now also relativity cheap here in the USA. You can literally do anything, from engine swap, to turbo build on the stock LS motor now for cheap.
The main thing we have going with our srt-6 is just the exclusivity but Needswings continues to develop stuff for our cars like his new intake manifolds and now a larger TB.

ok maybe in the states but here corvette C5 s are twice the price of our SRT-6 , not everyone Wants to mod either.
However yes there are plenty of options to squeeze more from our little 6 too, thanks to Needswings and the tuners.
The main thing in a sports car is power, handling and looks. and we got all that +.
a comparison of a modded 6 ( 430hp+?at the crank ) and a C5 Z06 would be interesting.
Yes on the exclusivity, here the SRT-6 are veryvery rare and it is a real sleeper , i like that.

I own both an srt6 and an 04 commemorative edition C5 convertible (I have owned corvettes for my entire adult life. I'm 74 yrs young lol). The corvette certainly offers greater flexibility, ease of modding, lots of types of performance options, but the srt6 is as good as it gets. The C5 can't stay with the srt6, stock to stock. Remember the basic C5 is rated at 360 in it's last year (2004) and is pretty heavy compared to the srt6. I believe with non OEM tires on both, the crossfire can hold it's own. Both are fun to drive, but i really love driving the srt6 (not that the vette is shabby lol)

Great to hear SRS244 !
I dont mean to be picky but the Srt6 actually weighs 3 to 4 kg MORE than the C5 .

Come on guy's what value and the performance package the XF's offer. Huge difference in the engine size etc. The Crossfires punch well above there weight. Don't cut them short they have a lot to offer in every respect.

My previous ride was a Holden SSV 6.0 v8 with a Walkinshaw tune, exhaust and intake. It was a nice car and quite quick but they are common around here and i got bored with it.
My SRT-6 was quicker even stock and much more FUN car to drive
even looks aside ,a faster sports car for SRT6 money?
i cant think of one.
very

Anyone can own a Corvette (they are like bellybuttons)
Seeing as how this is the Crossfire/SRT Forum I'm sure all of the Crossfire/SRT owners may appreciate this
Whats the difference between a Rose and a Corvette?
You have to be careful when handling a Rose, unlike a Corvette, the ****** on the Rose are always on the outside.
Happy New Year everyone

Funnily enough, the C5 owning MG lovers, were all over me, when I suggested my 6 was faster than my 02 C5 on the MG forum. Seems like it's one vehicle you can't dis!
I too have had my share of vettes, but how dare I suggest something with a 6 cyl was faster......
Oh well...... :0)

Not to get into a back and forth about who's faster.....
I do like the C2 and C5 vettes but I think we do have the better Performance Bargain.
