Hey all,

I'm looking for info on my SRT6 Roadster. It's got some funky switches and wiring on it that doesn't look factory at all, and I'm really not sure what it does. Someone appears to have added a 3 position switch beside the E-Brake handle. When you turn it one way, there are lights on the dash that flash and then turn on yellow, flip it the other way and they slash again and the light turns green. Other that that it doesn't seem to do anything. I've also traced some wires under the hood that don't really go anywhere. I'll probably need to get some pics.

I was interested in seeing if anyone knew of the history of this car? I bought it in New Jersey, but not from the original owner. The guy I bought it from didn't know what that switch did either. He did tell me that the car was painted and striped by the previous or original owner. Here's a picture of the car when I got it. The stripes are unique, I haven't seen another like it. I hope to have it road worthy in time for our 1st Autocross in April.

 

Maybe its listed in our VIN Thread for you to verify if the original owner was a member of the Forum and listed his/her mods. Pics always help, when you get them let us know and someone will support. Welcome to the Forum.

 

I searched and found the VIN on the older "pdf" list. But no user name was on there.

I'll get pics of the switch / light gizmo. It looks kinda James Bond'ish. I was hoping for an afterburner or an ejection seat.

 

Possible exhaust cutout switch that the previous owner had, but converted back to stock exhaust before selling it? Previous nitrous kit?

 

Here are a couple of pics. When you turn the outer **** to the left, you get some red / outer lights flashing and misc beeping sounds and the center light comes on yellow - Center appears to be the off position - Right position had misc flashing red outer lights, and the center comes on green. Also accompanied by misc beeping noises. The outer part of the **** seems to be a volume control for the misc beeping.

 

I did find the VIN in the older "PDF" VIN file, but no use name was associated with it.

 

Well, my Son was looking at it, and he's thinking it's the control for the Turbo Encabulator.

 

Naw, probably the blinker fluid purge switch.

I’m guessing that as it still works it may be an attempt to add an imitation security system. The one security armed light we have is very easy to miss.

 

I know that car but I can’t remember who owned it at the moment. That’s going to bug me.

 

I'm hoping you can remember, I bought it in New Jersey if that helps. The guy I got it from bought it in 2012 from a dealer in N.j., so I'm guessing it was traded.

looks like a "K-40" radar/laser system control ****. installation normally included "antenna" mounted in front grill, Status LEDs in dash and (optionally for Laser) licence plate frame(s) with Jammers .

lowest performing laser radar ever offered.

That very well may be what it is. I tracked some wiring up to the front of the car. Found a loose plug near the core support that's just hanging there...

But I'm going to keep telling the wife it's an ejection seat.

 

I have seen that car here before. With Photobucket photos no longer showing up here, it may be hard to find now.
