Previous owner did 65mm + Tune. Need any cooling?
Previous owner did 65mm + Tune. Need any cooling?
Hi!
Previous owner upgraded to the EC 65mm pulley with a tune. Should I be concerned about cooling? Everything else is stock currently.
I'm just learning about the functions of the SRT and haven't looked into performance mods much for this engine so any tips will be appreciated.
What power output does the 65mm pulley + tune actually have?

Here’s some good information as far as SC pulleys go. SRT-6.com - Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6
Was anything else done to the car? Cold air intake possibly? If not that what would be one of the next things to do. The 1st IMO is what I think should basically be a Stage 0 for SRT6 owners and that’s putting a PSK (pulley saver kit ) on the car. Not sure if your EC pulley is aluminum or steel but aluminum pulley’s have been known to grenade just like the idler pulley and the PSK will take care of that problem. Then you could split the cooling for the ICP and or add a bigger heat exchanger. You’ve been on here a couple of months it says so I’m sure you’ve heard of Needswings, that’s where I’d go for said parts. ENJOY!!!!!

Re: Previous owner did 65mm + Tune. Need any cooling?
Cooler is always better but "needed" no. If all your original parts are in good condition, no. If you'r asking about engine cooling, no. If you'r asking about supercharger cooling, no. Drag racing, yes. Time attack or track time, yes.
I managed 3 20 minutes track sessions with no overheating with a 65 mm pulley, stock cooling and a tune. (Hot and humid, Puerto Rico) I didn't run into trouble until I got a race tune and switched to a 178 crank pulley.

Thanks for both of your advice! The car is stock besides the 65mm pulley and EC tune according to the owner. I didn’t know about the SRT6 website. Great resource. Owner didn’t specify much about the pulley whether aluminum or steel. I guess I will have to look at some pictures and compare to be able to tell the difference.
‘I think the kit that protects the pulley might be a good idea. From what I can tell, cooling should not be an issue for now.
How can I tell I tell wha twice pulley it is? I just want to make sure owner gave correct information.
