Default Opinion on this CarFax for BLK SRT6 Coupe.

https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aai...4-71fc193723f9hopefully link works.

Current owner is 7th owner it looks like. Was originally in Texas for the original owner and then it went out to Hutchinson Kansas where it changed hands like three or four times. Then it went out to California to another owner. Then to lees summit mo, and now KCMO. Not much info on Carfax. Has roughly 44,000 mi. Newer tires, battery and RCM was replaced according to current owner who has had it since 2021. He says it is in perfect condition. All the suspension on it is original and no maintenance on the coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid etc etc.

Strange, according to the service records the oil and filter were changed about every 2000 miles. I wonder if the correct oil and filters were used. Other than that, it appears it was purchased a few times for perhaps quick resale or they bought it and found out it wasn't for them.

A Carfax report is only as good as the information reported to it. It should not be the sole basis for a purchase decision and should always be supplemented by other information. Visual inspections, owner supplied info, maintenance receipts, etc. Unless a shop reports to Carfax the work won't be credited and will not be part of the history (missing reports), thus the need for receipts. The owner has verbally given you info and you have physically checked out the car. As far as the number of owners the first 5 only put 13091 miles on the car averaging 2600 each. Owner 6 had the car the longest and added 17,000 miles. Lastly current owner 7 has owned the car six years and driven 13,000 miles. The average usage is certainly below normal. Total mileage of 43,109 makes the car desirable everything else considered. The selling price is determined by Condition, Mileage &Vehicle History

Probably due to age. Wasnt driven much early on. Cars were a hard sell when they came out

Current owner bought it in 2021. So 4 years. Last two owners were in Kansas City area, one in Lee's summit and the current one in North Kansas City it looks like . I have not seen it yet in person. It's about 45 minutes away. Just debating on making the drive next weekend. Yes, that's unfortunate about maintenance and carfax. You just never know. Seems like most of these cars that have changed hands multiple times have not been properly maintained aside from oil changes, batteries and tires. He was asking $17.5k. I already have him down to $13k without even seeing the car. He is currently out of state since he has a house in Texas during the cold months and his grandson would be showing it to me. But I believe even at that price it's a little high. I kind of laugh because I made a post back in 2018/2019 of an aero blue that had I believe 78,000 mi on it and I didn't even buy that one at. I think it was $7,100. But it was pretty rough and of course that is before the really crazy devalue of the dollar we see today.

When I bought my roadster I drove 2 hours to see it. I went over the car, took it for a test drive, fell in love with it and drove it home.
I just had a feeling in my gut that this car was meant for me. I still have that feeling today.

The car spent most of it's life in areas that salt the roads; Open the doors and look at the bottom of the door where the weather seals attach. If it is clean with little to no rust it will tell you a lot how the car was taken care of.
I would look at the plastic cover under the engine as well. Is it dry or covered with oil?
Take it for a drive and then stop in a parking lot and use a scan tool (2003 SLK 320 R170) to see if any DTCs are present before returning it.

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...468#post956410 found the listing from the guy in Lee's summit when he was selling it.. look at the asking price. So I'm guessing the current owner got it for around $13,000 or so
