2004 V8 6-speed
Lmao, with how easy the E55 guys said they can get up to 160/180 your 1000lb less rocket is going to have a hard time agreeing with your bucket list revision.
All I have done to my trans is a internally is the Paramount Performance valve body. Eurocharged T/C (which may be for sale this spring) and an external trans cooler w/fan kicked on by a thermal switch. Oh and my trans shifts a lot better (crisper) on ATF+4 over the Merc fluid.

Is the EC torque converter really necessary? I have the stocker from a C32 and that thing is already a beast.
Oh and stock torque limiter in the ME is 570Nm (420ft/lbs)
I asked earlier but how is it you change the torque limiter in the ME?
Steve, There you have it. Stock you'll be restricted some, and with the tune I put on you'll be restricted quite a bit.
You're just turbo correct? What was your setup as far as boost from the turbo initially? How close was factory ECU for running a turbo in place of the SC?

As for tuning, Eurocharged started and I have been fine tuning myself for the past year with a WinOLS license that Jerry let me borrow due to amount of tunes needed to get the car where it needed to be. Per the agreement I have with Jerry, I cannot share any map data or tuning for others.
I am single turbo only. The stock fueling and ignition maps were not close at all. Boost comes on a lot different between a turbo and a supercharger. I believe we started at 16lbs of boost and went from there on the first build with a journal bearing 50trim and stock injectors. I am now on a DBB PT5857 and E85 so the whole fuel system is aftermarket.

At some point I'm going to get ahold of the Dimsport software for tuning people via OBD but it's expensive.

I wish I had thought to ask just 2 mos. ago when I had it opened up & TC off ~ (double facepalm)
Hey DAS.h, Can we assume you will be expanding your company to include TCU tweaking?
OT.. Is it just me....Sometimes, like today, I stop getting the email alerts of new post. I just happened to ck and Voilà, more post.....
Bryan, what are your plans for the T/C? You need a stock for modded trade or what? May have some interest since we like the drag racing side more.
Josh, you just figure out how to get Chrysler out of our tuning....lol. Then we can be all AMG...

Yeah, I would need a stocker+cash for the EC unit.
I mainly want to convert the modules so that I can access them and tweak them in DAS. It will help me figure out eliminating traction control/ESP 100% without touching ABS while using our normal button.
And no upshift at the revlimiter...
Would be nice to have a 'sport' mode when you turn 'off' the TC/ESP without having to add any additional switches?
Like manual TCU control when you turn off the TC/ESP?
That would be pretty nifty. Click the button for off on TC, which engages full manual on TCU... Seems difficult though lol.
I have faith in you!!!
Well it wouldn't be impossible. Would just need to figure out, full manual for the TCU, full off for traction and wire a relay from traction to full auto. That way the button functions as a 2 in 1.
I'm interested in the Paramount VB. Let me know how much + stocker. Can ship and pay right away.
Update on my build:
...Not all that funny, I laughed but kind of pissed me off - I was playing in DAS to see if something wasn't set right for my "oil HI" always kicking on but no idiot light... Come to find out my ignition mapping was set at 87 RON!!!! That's like 83 Octane!!! I changed it to 91 with correction, and sure as $h** the car was smoother, gas mileage increased, decel was faster and smoother, slight kick in the pants difference, and traction light actually flickered in 3rd at 70... -facepalm

Update to this previous update:
Same driving habbit, and I'm returning about 15.5mpg, about 2.5 better than with the 87 RON selected. That's a bit more on par with the SL500 stock. The more I drive the more I realize the difference in power as well. It's so smooth now.
Next up is to get my new 16" electric fan rigged (thanks Steve), intake tubes, K&N filters, stock exhaust rigged up, then the state smog referee.
My registration is due August, and my plan is to visit the ref March. I wasn't nervous going into the build because both the 320 and 500 are considered ULEV (ultra low emissions vehicles) and have the exact same smog equipment between the two.
Well I could have done a bit more research than believe what I was told... The referee goes by the emissions date stamped under the hood (2004) and the engine swapped in has to be from a car of that same year or newer (supposedly). Well the shop that Bob was in contact with (where I got my motor) said that the engine came from a 2005, come to find out, it's from a 2003...
The fine print actually states: "Make sure the engine and emission control configuration on exhaust – controlled vehicles are certified to the year of the vehicle or newer, and to the same or a more stringent new vehicle certification standard."
So I have some sweet talking to do. Emissions wise there is no difference what so ever between 2003 and 2006 SL500's nor is there a difference between 2004 and 2008 Crossfire's, nor the two together. I have to prove that a 2003 SL500 could be certified for 2004 emissions... Or he has to take my word for it.
Any suggestions?
Simple - move
Or let me 'borrow' your car until you can make it to Indy, I will take really good care of her, and if you are lucky, I will buff that paint LOL

The referee is different. They closely examine your engine swap to determine if the smog equipment is all there, and functional, to approve the use on road. They slap a barcode on and report to the DMV that your VIN is now associated with a different motor. Then you can go to any normal smog shop for smogs. However they also check the year the engine was certified for. I have no idea how they pull up this info unless they have Star DAS with the EPC but it doesn't matter. If the year is caught then I'm screwed, unless I prove that '03-'06 SL500's have no difference in configuration or functionality.
One thought I had (which sucks) is to creat an exel file with '03 part numbers vs the '06 part numbers to show they are the same for smog equipment. To add to that, I was thinking of collecting pictures for '03's and '06's.
