factory tuning limited only , the 05 SL55 was 493 the engine from the 07 sl55 was 510hp this had the larger throttle body and a few other upgrades to the engine which was also in the g55 till 2011 I think.. Honestly all the e55 felt the quickest, I have driven a bunch compared to the heavy A$$ SL.. So its just tuning, engines are the same. Here is a good wiki read.
The E55 AMG is powered by the m113 engine, a 5.4 L v8 with a Lysholmtype supercharger manufactured by IHI. The E55's engine was tuned to 476 PS (350 kW; 469 hp) and 700 N·m (520 lb·ft), the low end of the supercharger 55 range due to its longer exhaust system, compared to the SL55 engine at the high end which made 517 PS (380 kW; 510 hp) and 720 N·m (530 lb·ft). Despite this, Car and Driver reported in their testing that the E55 AMG was faster than the SL55 AMG. The E55 AMG was the fastest four door car in Mercedes-Benz's lineup at the time, being quicker than the C32 AMG and S55 AMG, and it posts faster acceleration than the 2003 Brabus E v12 biturbo (verified by the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest saloon of the time)

I agree, Should be the same with the main diff. being the shorter exhaust...All things considered, should be 510 @ crank in the xfire.... LINK>> E55 AMG (2003–2006)

My understanding is that the tuning is the same. That it's a difference in the exhaust and intake. The stock E55 tubes are constricted really bad. It bottle necks to like 1" x 1" at on point on the drivers side. The exhaust has 4 cats, a resonator, and 2 mufflers. So I think if I took SL55 tubes and exhaust and threw it in place it would be the exact same power as an SL55.

You are corretomoondo...

On this E55 the head exhaust ports are 40mm dia and the exhaust manifold inlets were 36mm dia .
I read on MBworld that one guy cut open the SS outer shell and measured the collector tube~ 1.5" dia...whoa!

The manifolds I replaced with (gallery) are 42mm inlets and 2.38" od collector.... That should help percentage wise...

BTW big Josh, cleared codes & went for a cruz in the hood today. Dang...I'm still shakin... Nice job Josh!

I'm goin out to a hotrod cruz-in 2nite and I just know someone is going to ask about the ECU work...
Send me a sticker to put on the top of the black plastic access cover...or I can just say I did it... Yeah that's the ticket...

It’s time you spread your wings, Co. logo, web site, etc….

New plan lol. 600 TT V12 motor is going in the E and the 55K is going in the Crossie lol. If my trans breaks, I'll decide if I want to try a T56 or figure out what broke and build it for the next part to break.

And yes, that means a Crossfire plug and play 500 5.0 V8 will be for sale along with an ECU. A swap kit.

That would be bad ***!! You gonna try and find a v12 from a 65 car ? Or just a standard v12 from a 600?

I found one 65 motor for sale and it's listed for $20,000 , naturally I said f' that, so I'll probably just go with the TT 600 motor. Either way they both have huge amounts of torque with some room to go lol.

Just got word from Rudy that I'll have a clutch to hold the 55K motor in the X. Hopefully nothing else in the trans goes lol.
