2004 V8 6-speed
EXACTLY what I was referring to in the other thread. Act like your crap don't stink and you are better than everyone else because of what you paid someone else to do and I will call you on it every time!
Either way, I still have no problem with you Jim. Bow out, cut the bashing and all is good.

With the wife gone and me in need of 4 seats and doors I finally found an E55 worth buying. Stomped on a BMW Alpina B7. Got a ticket for unsafe start doing a pretty massive burnout lol. Driven 600 miles with pure luxury. I love this thing
. I'm so overly obsessed with Mercedes, I don't think anyone will catch me driving much else. It does everything I need, want and then some. Pics:
Damn, nice choice. I'm itching to buy a MB myself, except with four more cylinders and a couple of snails.

Sounds like a good choice! What model?
I like the 2014 vette's a lot. Except the motor lol.
I have no problem with anyone on this forum, I'm just tired of "so and so did this, or that".... I've already proven what I can do. What I did NOT ONE PERSON COULD!!!!!!!!! Only Mercedes and I haven't heard from that guy in a while anyway. Jim (JimmySkullz) was down YEARS, going to everyone and anyone that dealt in Mercedes... I had his car running almost immediately after mine. So I feel I've earned the respect of this forum. Whether you think Rudy can do something better than I can in the way of installation or ECU work, then fine, think what you want. The FACT is that there would be no different outcome...

You have, at least from me, but with age comes wisdom and you will soon realize you do not need to blow your own horn, especially because one person makes a comment or two, you can simply let your work speak for itself, especially with the more and more you accomplish.
Carry on, sir.

Josh, The 55K ECU you basically scratch built for me is about to rock my world. That one accomplishment alone is beyond anything I could ever achieve and certainly earns you top honors in my book! Being gifted at a young age is not all it’s cracked up to be ~ just keep doing your magic – everything else will fall into place…

Sound advice….

As far as the rest, trial, error and research. Most assume the means are on the web but I actually had help in high places because the stuff wasn't on the web. Basically through all the ECU work, Karim was working with me. Now he was pretty close-minded and ultimately his idea's didn't work, but it helped me get to the solution. My Unlock files work, and work well. My mapping files are genuine. My supplies are quality. Except for my chip burner but it works pretty damn good anyway
I guess the answer is, natural talent.
I'm not sure if Brabus, Evotech, Renntech and such gave up because they deemed it a lost cause? But remember that I went to them before hand as well. I had no desire to spend a grand on ECU's learning how to do unlocks, we just got to that point where there wasn't a choice. Well, there still was actually. The guy in Germany that beat me to it, that went to Mercedes directly and spent 15000 euros on the ECU work said MB could do it for 4,000 euros? or 6? I don't remember exactly. Either way, it was WAY too much. Which pushed me to figure it out. Now I offer the job for $1500 so that people don't have to cash their retirement for ECU work on an "impossible" engine swap.
Lmao thanks! Sounds like a song. lol.
You are the exception to the rule, you have actually stuck it out and gotten results, some amazing ones, IMO. But keep in mind, for many of us that have been here several years (or closer to a decade for a few) Rudy has been the only real constant in this game. Everyone told him he could not do it when he first began as well, but he proved them wrong the same way you currently are. I see Rudy as IBM and you as Google, IBM has been around a lot longer and is capable of some pretty amazing stuff, but google is young, adaptive and is always brainstorming something new. Both amazing companies that do groundbreaking stuff, but different in their own ways. Keep it up!
Personally, I don't think that is it at all. Rudy has been around longer than most and has done things others, including Josh, have not done. I know you are hot on a 55K conversion, but to date, you have not accomplished one 100%, please correct me if I am mistaken - while Rudy has a minimum of 3 under his belt (plus several other crazy MB builds including the worlds only AWD C230 swapped with SRT6 drivetrain). We have all watched many people come before you and tell us that they can do it all, only to fade away into oblivion.

. Like I said though, you're right except for the 100% part. Neither of us have done it yet, but both of us have idea's for that stupid cruise control for the 55K swap. We've talked about how to accomplish it and came up with 2 idea's. He's going with one that won't work with a manual since he doesn't need it to, and I'm going with the other that in theory should work with a manual. Steve's will run just like the 3 Rudy did. I mean hell, it's from Rudy's schematics and files. I gave him mine, he gave me his. I almost feel that people think there's beef between Rudy and I. That's not the case at all... We're the IBM and Google merger. lol. It's not like I'm trying to dethrone him either. When we talked on the phone for the first time after my swap was done, you almost heard a sigh of relief in his voice. He works with the newer crazier stuff now and I almost got the impression that he WANTS someone else to take over this old chassis. Like Doc said, he may not be doing anything regarding this stuff here pretty soon...
I am a Rudy and Rob at Needswings fan all the way. Both have personally worked on my car and both have gone way past normal customer service to keep my car at its best. I consider both to be my friends. I have seen all 3 Rudy cars and had the experience of driving Jim's and Paul's cars. They are amazing machines.
I have followed your efforts from the begining here on the forum. I have been very impressed with your determination and perserverance. It took a lot of hard work and getting by disapointments to gain the knowledge you now have. I think there is plenty of room for another bright mind who is willing to put in the hours of work and make the investment in tools and equipment required to accomplish the things that most have said can't be done.
Hopefully we will meet at a Crossfire function some day. Best of luck in your future Crossfire magic.

I'm currently looking to buy a CL600 even though it will definitely be slower than my curent setup by far (12.6 vs 11.0). However, the twin turbo V12 should run consistant 10 second 1/4 miles runs with a tune and turbo upgrade, while providing all the ammenities I've been missing. Also, it will be running said times without nitrous and for under a 20K total expendeture.
I have really enjoyed the Crossfire, but it's time to move on. I intend to strip and sell it next month.
Sorry to hear that! I was looking at the CL65 just prior to the XF, but finding one with decent miles for a reasonable price was a challenge. There was the whole turn-off of the coil pack expenses as well as brakes, but I suppose now the latter is moot. Good luck!!
