I had headers made for my first V8 .

with 10.55 at 132 new made headers to 10.79 at 129 with cost being over a thousand difference
and then the Needswings srt-6 down pipes fit.

All the swaps I've seen people take the v8 and v6 manifolds and cut them to keep stock pipes. Has anyone just left the v8 and run new pipes?

Using the v* exhaust manifolds the V6 exhaust does not fit and the V8 exhaust does not fit , to modify the v8 exhaust can not happen ,,it hits the starter and the transmission and does work around the frame suports
the cost for custom exhaust is not worth the gain.

The V8 manifolds will not fit in the Crossfire. Not at all. That's why people make the manifolds. However, it has recently been discovered that W208 CLK430 manifolds may be a direct bolt in solution for V8 Crossfire swaps.

don't think so in fact,, Not recently discovered but 16 years ago we tried them on the first V8 we installed . They look a lot alike and while they are close, they don’t fit properly against the rear of the engine compartment and contact the heat shields and the factory exhaust isn’t close to where the manifold flanges are so it won’t bolt up..
