Detailed the Crossfire once again!
So, I got some new polishes, from Optimum Polymer Technologies, and here's the process and below are the results:
I haven't detailed the car since August 2005. I was really impressed to see that there was a very small amount of contamination on the entire paint surface...a testament to Klasse All In One longevity! The car was detailed a week ago, and today I put a second coat of P21S while it rained outside! Enjoy
The process:
- Wash w/Sonus Gloss Shampoo
- Sonus grey clay bar with Sonus Glyde lube
- Optimum Compound w/Sonus DAS Orange Pad on PC at a speed of 5 (clearcoat is very hard)
- Optimum Polish w/Sonus DAS Green Pad on PC at a speed of 4.5-5
- AIO
- P21S (x2)
- Autoglym Tyre Dressing applied about a week and a half ago
- AIO toped with Prima Clarity on glass
- Wheels treated to AIO about two weeks ago
- Exhaust and chrome Chrysler Emblems polished with Brasso liquid (thank's ViffeR for the Brasso idea, it works well)

I like the last shot the best! Any overhead shot of the Crossfire is awesome as it really shows off the cars beauty.
BTW Golf, disregard my comment in the other thread, I saw what you did after the clay barring. The car looks great, but don't rely on AIO to last that long, thats what SG x 2 is for. BTW I noticed your using P21S and I just wanted to pass this along incase you didn't know. The product P21S and S100 are the same thing, but the S100 is half the price. I really like using the S100 and even though it doesn't last as long as Klasse SG it has a great shine, adds depth because its a carnauba and most importantly is very easy to apply/remove, a win, win and win again for anyone using it.
Haha, I was too late to catch your post, so if you can, please go back to the "clay bar" thread to see my response to your comment. I realized the S100 deal too late in the game, but I have yet to buy a new can of wax since my first "serious detailing purchase" a year and a half ago! Instead of pm'ing me, you can just write your response here!
Ok, here's the deal with Klasse SG...ITS VERY EASY TO REMOVE, JUST LIKE AIO.
I found a great tip on applying both of the "twins" and its this, dampen the applicator you've using (I use a 100% cotton pad thats square, but have just gotten a microfiber pads) Make sure you wring it out so its only slightly damp. Then apply a small amount to the applicator pad (I use a spray bottle to make sure I use the least amount, but as long as its about a 2" line, your alright). That amount along will be enough to do 1/2 the hood and from there you can you use even less because you'll always have "some" on the pad. It may look like your not applying it to the car but trust me, thats the way Klasse SG is, plain and simple. Klasse SG gives the paint clarity or "pop" and really responds to its second coat applied 8-12 hrs later. I was absolutely blown away when I did this for the first time, I was completely hooked. I recently bought a 33 oz bottle of Klasse SG for $30.00 and that was including S/H, so needless to say I'm sticking with it, no doubt about it. Now that I've found a product thats so easy to apply, its easy to keep my car looking its best everyday.
Another little tip I read about over on www.autopia.com was to mix in some Klasse SG with your quick detailer. I did this with my Griots Spray Wax, adding some SG to it for an even better Spray Wax.
So whether you add it with spray wax or a quality QD, this product is simply amazing!

Well Aero Blue, I guess I just might try this combo...I do love my AIO, so why not it's twin! AUTOPIA ALL THE WAY!!! (I'm "xfire" on autopia, just to let you know).
The second twin (SG) is the real "star of the show" as its the product that protects and pops, but you've gotta clean/polish before hand, so AIO is just as important.
You can call them the "twins" of even better, the "Dynamic Duo".
Darn...I did all this work specifically this week so that I can attend this week's local car show...I end up missing it because I thought it was tomorrow, and I stayed home all day to detail someone else's truck. Geez
