Chrome Polish on the Windows!! Gets rid of all the water spots!!
Surfing around in the Meguiar's Forum I learned something interesting. I found that using chrome polish on the exterior of the windows will get ride of water spots. So I tried it... and it worked GREAT! There isn't one spot remaining on any of my windows and a bonus... it doesn't leave any streaks.
Hope this helps those of you who bought a XF that was sitting on the lot for a while as mine was.

Please excuse my stupidity, but what are water spots? I dry my car off after I wash it and never have had them (water spots) before. Am I thinking of a different kind of water spot?

it rains... the sun comes out and rapidly dries the standing water droplets on the glass. with any acid/pollution in the rain the droplets... it will sometimes spot or etch the glass. a normal washing will not remove these stubborn spots on the glass. (and ... it can also happen to the paint surfaces as well).

I've used detailing spray to the same end. The main thing is to get the windows dry first after you wash your car. It also helps if you don't wash your car in the direct sunlight, try and find a shady spot and dry it off quickly after you wash it. I always go over the car after drying it with a shot of detailing spray. I use Zaino there lots of others available.
