Default PlastX

I just bought the plastx for my Xfire because I hear a lot about it on our website here. I used it and the slight oxidation was still there, no change. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get it to work or what else I need to buy to get rid of it.

Cool Re: PlastX

Is it oxidation or condensation on the inside of the head lamp?

I am pretty sure it is on the outside.

If it is on the inside, how do I get to it?

I will find out tonight. Thanks.

There is a TSB for "Head Lamp Condensation"...take it to the dealer.

Well, I really don't think it's condensation. I am almost 100% sure it is oxidation on the outside ( I could feel it). Is this covered under warrenty or is it normal wear and tear that I need to replace?

I had the same problem. The FL sun makes the outside of the headlights cloudy and they look terrible. I took it to my local dealer who would not replace them. I took it to another dealer who replaced both headlights without hesitation. Before I got the new headlights, however, I used a professional high-speed buffer with 3M rubbing compound. I used the buffer on low speed and it polished the headlights very well.

So your saying you polished it out and it's still foggy? try maquire's plastic polish and cleaner, if that doesn't work maybe it's just very pitted, or oxidized on the inside? You might be able to find Euro headlamps, they are usually made of glass and not plastic...try asking around and see if someone can find a part number.

Ok, so I really used a lot of elbow grease and it worked a little. I will work more on it later. For now, I just wanted to see some results. Thanks everyone.
