Default Andrew, what clay bar do you recommend for first time clayers?

Hey Andrew! I did a little searching and I saw you used to own a detail shop?

I've never used a clay bar before. Is there any kit or specific product you'd recommend for a first timer?

I was thinking of mothers clay bar kit. It's only $18 dollars (you get what you pay for?) and it seems to come with everything a first timer would need.

Anyways, anyone can feel free to help me out!

Thank you!

Any opinions on the mother kit though?

Mother's clay bar stink...barely aggressive at all, it takes forever to remove very basic contaminants within the paint.

I've been using the Griots Clay bar and I know Andrew isn't a big fan of it and that's cool, but I have had nothing but praise for it. Yes you've gotta wear gloves, but think of it like this, its picking up those embedded contaminents though. I too detail cars on the side and I buy in bulk, so any QD can be used as lubricant with the clay bar. Just my .02 cents worth and BTW, Clay Magic worked well for me when I tried it too.
