Default Water in pan under front of engine

I've owned my car for almost a year and have washed it countless times. I washed her yesterday and I went into the garage to open the hood to clean the engine bay when I looked down and saw a liquid pooled on the shield under the engine. I never noticed that water pooled there. It's clear water, most likely from the wash. I was just wondering if anyone had this experience this. I am thinking about drilling a couple of small drain holes in the pan to let the water drain. Has anyone done that? I know it's not hurting anything, but I would rather have it dry.

Aptiva, my only fear about drilling holes in the pan would be you might inadvertently turn your car into a "whistler". You know, one of those cars that you hear coming down the road long before you hear the motor.

Yes I drilled one additional 1/4" hole were the water seams to collect more, now it drains proper and stays dry. I also removed the plastic cover to inspect the oil pan drain plug for removal ease for my home oil change and found the inside cover very dirty from the water collection prior to drilling the extra drain hole.
I washed the cover top and bottom, reinstalled and looks good even tho the average person would never see it but I think fellow crossfire owners understand.

PS. No whistling sound noted.

I, too, thought of drilling a hole in the bottom of the pan and was also afraid of creating a whistle. I may go ahead with a drain hole the next time I have it off.

That's great news 178, I'm glad you don't hear anything. But why are all those dogs following your car?
