Pretty good instructional videos. Can anyone comment on their products?

Thumbs up Re: Detailing instruction videos...

I was going to post a new thread about this product today, i just got done using the detail spray i received form entering the Chrysler Nationals this past july.
I have been a big fan of Turtle Wax ICE detailer, i think this is better goes on easy and comes off just as easy, no swirl marks or haze, great shine. Best of all it cleans glass and chrome just as good.
Andrew, Dave have you guys used yours? What do you think?

I watched the video also. Very interesting. There detailer product sounds pretty good. I'm surprised there isn't more info from users (if any) on the forum. I still belong to the 350Z forum, I'm going to check it out there.

Andrew, golfdude, and BlackLimitedCoupe, and any other experienced member, your thoughts on the Porter Cable Orbital polisher used in the videos. I am considering it, but would like your collected opinions. I found it for $119.00 on another site, $109.00 if reconditioned.

Red face Re: Detailing instruction videos...

I was impressed with Adams Online DVD on how to detail your car. I have had my previous vehicle clay
waxed at a carwash and it makes a difference.
I did not know that it was that easy to do it.
He uses a lot of polishing stuff on the car, almost too many for my taste. But I guess he knows best or is trying to market his product.
Any thoughts on this?

Nice video link...I've never heard of Adam's stuff though. He mentioned some good points. But, I really hated the fact that he touched the paint with his greasy hands! The Porter Cable is the tool to get for enthusiast detailers. I laughed when he said that the Porter Cable does not spin...of course it spins! It spins 360 degrees, and then oscillates left and right to reduce the heat build-up capabilities of the machine, making it very difficult to burn paint.

I just followed all his steps but with Meguiar's product. All I have to say is, I do not know how he shows it being done in 1 hour. It took me almost 4 hours to do everything. I do have to say though it does make a difference when following all the steps.

Ya...it makes me really ponder how some people are able to polish a car in such little time. It usually takes me 7 hours for JUST a three-step polishing.

I bought my Porter-Cable orbital polisher last year and love it. I bought it from Detailed Image along with Klasse All-in-one and Sealant Glaze. Used these products from day one with great success. I would go with a new PC versus a reconditioned one if the difference in cost is only $10.

hopefully it allows you to apply and remove the 3 stages of waxing much faster than I did by hand.

I am very slow also... It took me almost an hour to clay mine, I watched the video but I guess I need lessons anyway.
But I am quick at wiping XF1's butt... err tailpipe.

Lightbulb Re: Detailing instruction videos...

When using products like Klasse AIO and SG application/removal is a snap. I've never timed myself, but I think I can have the car done in about 30 minutes when applying/removing either the AIO and SG. As far as claying goes, well its a bit more involved, usually about 45 minutes or so. My car isn't driven everyday unless the weather permits it, so I'm sure thats a factor as well.
