Default Orbital power buffing

Years ago, I bought a Waxmaster RA7000 orbital buffer but I've never really used it for fear of doing more damage than good. But I'd like to give it another try on the XF. Any suggestions, advice, or tips for the safe use of a buffer?

i have a craftsman 'professional' 11 inch orbital (polish/buffer) that i use on rare occasion... they work quite well and are near idiot proof...

application suggestions:

once you squeeze supplied liquid/polish onto the round terry cloth orbital pad... evenly smooth product out by hand... this will also aid with excess product being left behind in cracks, etc.

i would recommend applying product one panel at a time and make use of an extra cotton wax pad with additional supplied cleaning product to cover area(s) orbital can't reach... remove product while wet.

just be sure not to bump any flat black plastics... this will leave product/polish residue behind (mirror triangle cap and trim on roof edge above window area). also no need to heavily apply product... this will just leave white residue in cracks and creases once it dries.

hope this helps...

Talk about getting in your blood, even a quick jaunt in some of those cars would get you spoiled in a big hurry. Just curious, but of all the high end stuff what was your biggest disappointment? Or were there any?

Midnightman...Have you every checked-out my sticky on "How to detail your Crossfire"? I describe buffer use in there. With an orbital you should have absolutely no worries about harming your paint. A rotary on the other hand, can hurt your paint.
