The stupid moron that opened his rear van door into my car. I even saw the idiot do it. So now I have a paint chip missing in my bumper. His response was "I didn't know the door would swing that far...". I could have killed him.

Anyone in the Phoenix area know where I can have it and a couple of rock dings taken care of? Any idea on cost? My baby is the metalic graphite color.

It may not be noticable to others, but it's like a glaring neon sign to me.

 

Did this clown offer to pay? Did you get his license number? He can't just hit your car, say something stupid to you and drive off. If that's the case report his sorry *** to the police and call your insurance company and report as a hit and run and give them whatever info you have about this guy.
There are "paintless dent repair" places like Dent Wizards etc. If you have trouble finding one call your local high end car dealer (Mercedes, Jag, Porsche) and see who they recommend. If its a dent and the paint isn't broken and its not on a seam or edge they can usually get it out. Don't know about the bumpers, that's a plastic cover. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I totally feel your pain. About 4years ago I had "just" had my Toyota Celica GT-S custom painted to the tune of about $4,500. THE DAY AFTER I PICKED IT UP FROM THE BODYSHOP I was parked adn sitting in my car and a Lincoln Town Car pulls into the space to my left. I was already nervous because it swung so wide I thought it was going to tag my rear bumper. Well, ok I thought it cleared. So about 30 seconds later, I see the passenger door FLY open with real force behind it(I'm sitting in the driver's seat remember) and hit the driver's door of my car. I about vomited right there in the car with the instant rage and pit in my stomach. I rolled the window down(as I couldn't open the door) and began the expected volley of every colorful word and descriptive phrase that I could muster. Well, as the "person" got out of the car I realized it was an old women about 75-80 years old. That didn't stop me though. I got out the car and wouldn't let her walk past me while I inspected the damage(which was BAD, 3 inch scrape in the uncurred paint down to the primer and a 7 inch vertical crease in the metal. The paint from my car was clearly transfered to her car door so she couldn't deny it) Needless to say the senile old bat denied it and walked around the other side of the car to get away from me. I said ok, if you want it like that, I'll call the cops, so I did. Apparently she did too once she got inside where she was going. The cop got both calls and came screaming into the parking lot and came right at me in takedown mode until he realized we knew each other. The old women had reported that I PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED HER! Long story short, the cop threatened to charge her with destruction of property and leaving the scene of an accident if she didn't provide her insurance information. He wrote a full report in my favor and that was that. Another $750 bill to have it fixed and it's all good. So, old people can be shady too. And no, I do not feel bad about getting into a fight with a little old lady, she was a B***H! She tried to get me arrested for PHYSICALLY ASSAULTING HER! I'll admit that I verbally assualted her, but she was hard of hearing and couldn't hear half of what was said, so she probably didn't even notice until I got of the car.

Sorry for the long rant...

 

One of my bosses wanted to know why I didn't kick his a**. He did leave in a hurry because he knew I wanted to.

 

Thought I'd add this little story before this thread gets too old.

Many years ago my old navy chief had bought a brand new Datsun 280ZX. I believe it was a 82 model. One day he drove to the store and parked way out in the boonies, not that that's ever a guarantee. An older woman then entered the lot in a Cadillac and naturally parked right next to the chief's ZX. And of course she had to ding the ZX's door with hers as she got out of her Cadillac. Now my chief had a real quick temper so he promptly hopped out of his car and yelled at the woman "look what you did" or something to that effect. Well, it was bad enough the she had dinged his door, but her reply was much worse - "it's only a dent", and then she proceeded to walk away. No doubt she could hear the sound of crunching metal as she left the scene of her crime. And the source of that sound? It came from my chief as he walked around her car kicking in all her car panels in retaliation.

 

A dent for a dent sounds fair to me.

 

"An eye for an eye" isn't enough.
"2 eyes for an eye" is satisfaction.

 

People are such ********! I swear that they do it on purpose. They see you parked out in the middle of nowhere so they park right next to you and abuse your car. It's enough to make me want to take a baseball bat to their car - smashing windows, lights and body panels.

But, of course, we all know who would go to jail. Isn't there some law against provocation? If there isn't there should be.
