Default Xzilon Paint Finish

Has anyone ever heard of Xzilon? My dealer gave me a free sample to use, anyone have any experience with it?

Total waste of time, as are all these high priced dealer applied sealants.

There was a Xzilon rep who posted to the Meguiar's forum last year saying how great this stuff was and that he was there to help and answer any and all questions. So I asked simply if this stuff would prevent a car from getting swirls in the paint if it was routinely run through a commercial car wash. He dodged the question, so I asked again. And again. Always very politely, never insulting the guy or his product. He eventually got really agitated, especially when I pointed out that he offered to help and urged us to ask questions but he just dodged them.

Bottom line, you will get swirl marks in your paint if you're washing and maintenence techniques aren't top notch. If you have something like Xzilon applied and you get swirls, then polish them out, the Xzilon or whatever you paid several hundred dollars to have applied is now gone. Simple as that.

I thought this stuff might be a scam. Looking at the ingredients it appears to be very heavy in VOC's( Xylene, Timethylbenzene etc). I'm not sure I would ever want to put it on my car.

Nah, it won't hurt the car. It won't really do much good, but it won't hurt. As for pain to the wallet though, that's a different story.
