Try to go to your local BMW dealer, go to service, and take a whiff of their Lederlotion. This is an odd smell, but I feel it is very german. When applied to the Crossfire, I certainly got a strong european new car smell. Zaino Z9 and Z10 may also be the sort of smell you are looking for, even more so than the BMW Lederlotion. Definitely look into andrew's products because they are more commonly used in dealerships than the "consumer products" I mentioned.

Lederlotion, eh? Does it smell like "leather" or like something else?

Oh it smells like leather. Very bmw-ish I might say, but I use it on many cars with good success.

The smell I'm looking for isn't leather...in fact, the best comparison was made earlier in this thread...it smeels like an unfiltered wheat beer.

Ok...sorry for the lack of understanding with the product you are looking for. It was 3:00am when I was responding to threads. Nevertheless, I just took a wiff of the Lederlotion, and I will say that it does not have a strong leather smell, contrary to my previous post. Zaino Z9 does, but Lederlotion is almost undescribeable. It smells "clean," but very unique. I have never smelled something like Lederlotion but I am confident that this may be the smell you are looking for. Unfortunately, I never smelled unfiltered wheat beer. It won't hurt to just stop by or even call your local bmw dealership to see if they have some.

Do Germans smell like butt??
Maybe theres nothing wrong with the smelly vents after all.
Have you tried changing the Cabin Airfilter in your XF? Its located under the Glove Compartment. And You can buy the replacement Cabin Air Filters on Ebay. I hope this helps, I know it helped mine!

Not a bad idea. My only sticking point is I don't see why a Ford Dealership in the western edge of VA would have some on hand.

Fruity smell as in apples or oranges I hope. Chrysler says not to use anything on the leather, just wipe it down with a damp cloth. I certainly would not use that product on the leather, just plastic as it says. Good leather looks nice when it ages, cheap leather looks like crazy paving. Keep the sun of it and it will last longer.

The danger is that you die, thats the bad news, the good news is that your dead body smells like a used German coupe.

so, jimboo how often do you eat or drink cleaning products? there are plenty of other things you breathe on a daily basis detergent, lysol, water(depending on the state) that would harm you over time. It isn't really all that strong not like im getting high off of cockpit cleaner while i drive lol

I know what everyone is talking about here. My wife always called it the cotton candy smell. This company has the premier leather treatment.

www.leatherique.com

This is expen$ive but the absolute best. When applied properly it restores the leather smell and rejuvenates old leather. I've used it on my DeLorean seats but haven't had a need to do anything with the Crossfire seats yet.

I used to love the smell of my new VW, had three in six years till I bought the SRT. Come to find out the smell was from the VW window cleaner, it had a unique smell to it that seemed to refresh the smell of the car. I know crazy but true. Rain-X window washer fluid is a close second...
