Default Shopping for a car cover

I am shopping for a fitted cover for my soon to be here 'new to me' (one owner 2K Miles) 05 Roadster. This will be for indoor use only, while parked for long periods over the winter or when it rains for days on end (as it frequently does here in upstate NY and I don't ever plan on driving the car in the rain, or even with the top up for that matter). Since I plan on keeping my crossfire for the rest of my life (I am 45 now) I want to buy something that will last for a long time with the proper care. I am also concerned about the cover scratching the paint, or holding moisture. My garage is not climent controlled, but stays cool in the summer and normally above freezing most of the winter. Your suggestions are appreciated !

They have some decent ones from empire. their website has a computer generation tool so you can see what the cover looks like on and off the car pretty cool.

Mine will be stored inside too for the bad months. Picked up a #2 size cover at WM for $22. We'll see if/how it fits and performs.

I garage and cover my XFs during the summer and they hibernate the same way for the winter. I bought the Walmart cheapee covers for ~$30 each. They work fine. No scratches, but I don't cover the cars if they are dirty. On the rare occasions I am caught in the rain, the cover does not go on until the car is washed. Since they are not fitted, I sometimes get a little grass debris under them if the wind is blowing hard and the garage doors are open, but it could be just picked up from when the cover drags on the garage floor. I am fanatical about caring for the XFs, but don't see the advantage of a $200 cover over a $30 cover if the car is kept clean and waxed. All the cover really does (in a garage) is keep dust and wind-blown debris off the car. PS - I've had one cover 4 years now, and added other covers as I added XFs. Right now my son's 2007 is sitting in the back of the garage under the newest cheapee cover plus three padded freight blankets for a little additional protection in case my bonehead family bumps against it or (horrors) puts something on the car.

"plus three padded freight blankets for a little additional protection"

Good idea! Where did you get the blankets?

When I moved to Michigan 10 years ago, they left a few pieces of furniture wrapped in those padded moving blankets. I drape those over the stored cars in the garage for extra protection. Not sure where the freight company buys them. There's a lot of expertise on this forum and maybe someone in the "moving" business knows. I've also recycled a couple old quilts that my wife deemed too ratty for the bedrooms into car uber covers.
