what's really leather?
I am looking to take good care of my 2007 Limited coupe I bought new a few months ago. It has the two-tone cedar/charcoal upholstery. It's leather, but I'm wondering what is truly cow hide and what is some vinyl. I am assuming that, like a sofa or leather chair you put in your house, that only the surfaces that receive much wear are leather. I have bought a bottle of Meg's leather conditioner, but am unsure what should receive that treatment and what should get the interior detailer.
I do believe the steering wheel is also leather. If someone wouldn't mind a quick explanation, it would be greatly appreciated.

One way to test if it's leather is to put a flame against it - however, I don't recommend that.
I treat the whole seat with leather cleaner etc. - it will not hurt the vinyl etc.

Yeah, I believe I'll pass on firing up the torch to give all the surfaces the flame test. I thought maybe somebody has changed out the upholstery and knows exactly which are which. But it's good to know that the leather treatment does ok on vinyl too.
Thanks
Thanks
the nappa leather surface is only the smooth surface of the seat - consisting of the sides, headrest, and lower area. the center textured section is not leather... the steering wheel is also leather.
