Default Zaino Question???

Bought the car in late November. Was lucky enough to get a coat of wax on it before it snowed. I'm going to try Zaino. Here's the plan.

1. Wash with Dawn
2. Claybar
3. Use the Z5 to get swirl marks out (Every new Xfire I have seen has swirl marks)
4. Put 2 coats of Z2

Question is???? If Zaino is a polish, do it have to put wax over it or is the Zaino a combination of the two?? Will this protect the car. I always that that polish was for luster and wax for protection??

Thanks for the help

I would make sure you use ZFX with the Z2, and also use the Z6 for wipe down (those are to must haves). Now, if you are using the clay bar (not sure why) you really don't need Z5 and should be just using Z2 with ZFX. Z2 is your "wax" it's the key secret sauce (but use with ZFX).

I'm using the Z5 for the swirl marks. I looks like there's cob webs all over the car

I agree with Tex, if you are doing the Dawn thing you can skip the clay bar. I used a clay bar on my 4 year old 300m last weekend but I figured I could use the "heavy hitter" part of the clay bar. This weekend the X-fire gets the royal treatment and I'm doing the clay bar, mainly because I have one left and figured I'd use it. Here's what I did last weekend on the 300m:

1. Wash and dry with Z-whatever Zaino wash
2. Apply clay bar
3. Wash and dry with Zaino wash again
4. Apply Z-whatever Zaino polish (with ZFX), I agree with Tex this is a must do
5. remove polish and apply Z-whatever gloss enhancer
6. repeat steps 4 and 5.
7. Think about repeating steps 4 and 5 before deciding you're exhausted and it already looks great.
8. Relax from exhaustion.

Seriously, it was a lot of work but worth it. After driving through the dry, dusty conditions in my neck of the woods during the week I'm sold on Zaino.

I guess you kind of have to be sold on it to go through all that. Too much work for my taste.

You got that right. Started at 8 AM, finished at 2 PM. Two 1/2 hour breaks waiting for the polish to cure/dry. If I can limit it to 1 or 2 times a year it will be OK.

I used to partake in the "car care" specialists at Danny's, but became disenfranchised.

No, no, no.... I'm talking about the "independent contractors" out on the corner, not the ones at commercial establishments.
