Anyone tried this? Is it more resilient than the TW Ice stuff?

$6 at Advanced Auto, almost bought it but I'm a Meguiar's loyalist

 

Better than TW Ice? That's too easy - anything is better than that stuff. Seriously, that is the only consumer product I've come across in the last few years that is a total and complete waste of time and money. So it doesn't stain trim, big whoop. Learn to apply any wax and that's not a concern to start with. Meguiar's Ultimat Wax, in liquid form, won't stain trim either and it won't wash off the first time you wash the car......or it rains.

I don't know for sure in Mother's Syn Wax will or won't stain trim biu I also don't care. Its good stuff and it will last a decent amount of time, and it bows TW Ice into the weeds. I don't think it's anything truly remarkable, but when comes to wax alone not much is - the real gloss and depth comes from all the prep work.

I appreciate that you're a big Meguiar's fan, but if you're looking to experiment with something else and can pick this up for just 6 bucks, go for it.

 

Right now I'm using the Meguiar's Gold-Class liquid wax.... loving it. I use Scratch-X as needed, but found it far too "tenacious" for use on the whole car. Leaves a film, for lack of a better term. Even after you buff it off with a microfiber, there's an appearance of streaks. They will follow the direction of the last wiping path, so it's nothing permanent.

The Gold-Class is my favorite to date. Haven't had a chance to test the TechWax yet, been itching to.

I've been touting Meguiars Tech 2.0 (and version 1 when it first came out!). I;m completely sold on this product.

And may I suggest Meguiars' Ultimate Compound the next time you buy a swirl.haze remover?

Mike-in-Orange, I bought TW Ice a couple years ago for my daughter's black Audi A4. it doesn't leave that nasty white residue in the slight scratches and touch to reach places. Now, she is not a sloppy person -- she had the car in my garage bay for four days before she took it back to college -- she washed it twice and put four coats of TW Ice on it. So, my question to you, is what Meguiar's product would provide the best wax job on a black car without leaving the white residue??

 

Meguiar has introduced a wax that leaves no white residue. It's called meeting the market. gary

Meguiar's Ultimate Wax in liquid form (the paste will still stain trim if you get it on there). In fact, if you do get some of the liquid version of this product on the trim it will make it look better, not worse. And it's a 100% synthetic polymer formula that won't just wash off like, well, some other product already mentioned in this thread. You can find it most auto parts stores, Walmart, etc. Just apply it really thin and you'll be fine.
