Default Getting off a Bird Crap Mark

Any suggestions as to getting off the mark made from bird droppings. Couldn't get home to clean it for a couple of hours and now it seems to have left an underlying mark. No visible mark from 5' away but if you get close enough you see a mark in the paint. Shine is still there but so is the mark. Any help is appreciated.

begin with a non-abrasive polish (3M or meguairs) product applied by hand.

if this doesn't work...the surface may need a high speed buffing or wet sanding.

This suggestion won’t help this time around but maybe next time. I carry a couple of small rags in the empty compartment where the air compressor is stored for small emergencies such as what you described. Add water and problem solved before it does any damage.

Good luck getting the mark off, it shouldn’t be that hard.

Use a claybar and car wash soap (or claybar lubricant) to remove particles imbedded into a paint surface. After that, wash the area like normal to remove the natural claybar residue.

First find the bird...pull out all it's feathers but don't kill it because you want it to tell it's fellow bird buddies not to crap on Crossfires!!!

Then if you didn't have some cleaner in your Crossfire don't tell anyone!

Spit as much saliva you can on it and wipe with clean shirt or sock!!!

Sorry to hear about this, but here what I'd try first. After cleaning the area off real good, try some Mequiars Scratch-X. This should lighten it up a bit, if not remove it, but if that doesn't work, your going to want to try some "non-abrasive" paint cleaner. Finally I know this after the fact, but this is why you should have a couple coats of wax on your car, just in cases like this. Good luck to you.

Wax = no matter how many coats will not protect against the horrid bird stuff (especially if they eat berries) for long = since the acids will eat through the wax and into the paint! Time is of the essence in this unruly equation = carry some club soda along to remove the first site of the stuff = if need be: place your thumb over the opening and shake the bottle well for some forceful spray action to aid in initial removal, then spray some detailing spray (meguiars makes a good one) on the area and then wipe clean with a microfiber towel! If left with a stain = you will need to polish it out preferably with a porter cable 7424 polisher and a good polish! Read all about it here ... and good luck.
