Talking Ordered and Ansa muffler

I just ordered an Ansa Sport muffler for my car and hope to have it on the car by the weekend. For those unfamiliar with Ansa Sport systems, they are a premium Italian Muffler that is most famous for their Ferrari sound as they supplied exhaust systems to Ferrari for a few decades now. The muffler I ordered is a 6" x 9" oval muffler with two 3.1" (80mm) tips. Ansa also makes OEM replacement mufflers and has a polished stainless line called Silver Line. The Ansa Sport, line is the traditional Ansa mufflers which are often black crinkle coated and should not be confused with the cheap knock offs from Monza Exhaust.

Looking forward to the sound clips!

Are you retaining the resonator?

I am not 100% sure I have a resonator. My car is not an SRT. The non SRT exhaust is two manifold into two Cats, then two Oxygen sensors, then some down pipe and into two more Cats, then they Y together into a single pipe that goes all the way back into the final muffler in the butt of the car. I have heard people say the second set of Cats are resonators, but they look just like cats to me. Either way I will leave those to little lumps alone. Most resonators are just little straight through glass pack looking things and help to eliminate droning, if these things are cats then I still want to leave them for the state inspection guy to see them. The SRT seem to have a different set up that looks like a big muffler thing in front of the left rear muffler and the an better muffler than the non SRT in the butt. The non SRT muffler is pretty wild looking in that exhaust has to go through it twice before coming out.

That is the AMG resonator (big silver box).
You are right, 2 different mufflers (SRT vs. NA).
Those are cats underneath where you sit.

When you get your new muffler installed - may I ask you to post a sound clip?
Good luck.

Ahh...

I assumed the non-SRT had a resonator as well, my mistake.

I'm still anxious to hear it.

They must use that big thing to keep the weight balance right after adding the supercharger up front. Isn't a non SRT a couple hundred pounds lighter? But No, I don't have one of those under my car.

Let us know how it turns out, while the stock system doesn't sound bad - it does give just a hint of what it could be. Ansa's on my Alfa's made a huge difference -
