I am going to try to find someone that can record a sound clip tomorrow. The wheels are an AMG type wheel used in 2006 They are a staggered set. 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the rear. You can find them on ebay. Tires are 225 40 18 and 265 40 18 Michelin PS2's.

I honestly don't know what they sell it for. What ever I paid isn't relevant. I used to sell Ansa in a speed shop I worked at in the '70s. I always loved the sound and wanted it for my Crossfire. Ansa wasn't aware of any Crossfire's with an Ansa Sport and wanted to see if their universal muffler could be made to work. What I paid, was the price to be a guinea pig. Ansa has never been cheap and is a premium Italian made system. Retail is close to $400. As I have already said give Gwen a call and find out the price. I really don't know what they sell it for, but I do think Gwen will take very good care of you and treat you very well.

$400 is cheaper than a Borla kit and who knows what the dynomax cost? probably $500.

I believe you can get the Ansa for a lot less than $400. Someone let us know when you get a price quote from Ansa.

I never bought the Borla kit, but there is no hp advantage to it, so its just a cat back system. Why buy the full Borla kit when you can just mount up this muffler?

If you look up Ansa stuff on Ebay its cheap. Most of it is OEM replacement.

Ansa has three different lines. OEM replacement, Silverline, and Ansa Sport.

Yes this is just the Muffler with tips. "A whole system" for a Crossfire is a joke. All you get with a Full system is a piece of pipe that you already have. The only advantatage to a full system is that you can unbolt and bolt on the new one yourself but you are paying a couple of hundred dollars more to be able to do it yourself when any muffler shop will weld in the new muffler for $75 IMO, the dumbest thing you can do is buy a full system and then pay to have it put on.

Ansa Sport is not OEM except for some very exotic Italian cars with a prancing horse emblem.

Question on the install - was anything other than the OEM muffler and tips removed? Any type of modification, to make it fit? Or was a straight remove and replace?

It doesn't quite sound like that. I will try very hard to get something posted tomorrow. I just need to find a friend with a camera.

Just a quick remove and replace. They did rework the pipe from under the rear axle back as the new muffle is just a little longer. cost me $75 to have it welded on. This will not be a system everyone likes as some will want a louder and raspier sound. After having this on for a few days now I am very glad I went with this muffler. It is not real loud but has a beautiful tone. As a daily driver this sound will not wear you out. The wife is even happy.

Lantana,

Is the OE exhaust on your car stainless? Just wondering - as a lot of shops around here don't know how to weld SS worth a crap.

Still looking for a sound clip - and the dang email notifications on the website aren't working.

It looked like stainless to me, the guys didn't have any trouble welding it. Try to find where the custom car guys are going in your area. They will know stainless and do very good work. The Alfa V6 clip linked above sounded the most like my car. I tried to make a sound clip today with my wife's Motorola Razor. Sound like crap and couldn't get it to send.

Lantana, you have now had the Ansa for about a month, What do you think? Better than the magnaflow and borla? Would you do it again? Would you do anything different? Has performance changed?
just curious
