I am in the process of changing the oil, first time with a Mercedes product, and I have the oil filter assembly out. The Service Manual just says "change filter" after you get it out. However, it doesn't tell you how to get it off the spring loaded plastic holder. I have tried everything to get it off but I am afraid I am going to break the holder.

What's the secret to this thing?

 

It's not spring loaded just twist and pull it.It should come off
