you get what you pay for I hate to say it. I try to do as much as i can myself for that reason exactly. I used to work at a local dogde, chev, kia dealership and i remember watching a mechanic do some warrenty work on a kia which involved pounding out the cat converter to fix the muffler problems. I will never forget watching him with a pry bar and a hammer just clearing it out. happens all over
I would rather do it myself. I have no trust for anyone who does not drive my car on a regular basis to fix it right. I only let the dealer work on warranty issues and still I am careful.
No, my name's Alex.........yeah, that's the ticket, Alex. No, I'm not the district manager.
I got a kick out of the guys with the Camaro.
I go to the same mechanics that I've gone to for the past 25 years though they freak whenever they see the SRT pull up. I'm free to wander around the garage whenever I like, I can ask them all the stupid questions I want & they all live in town..........I know where they live!

Jiffy Lube back in WV had some issues as well. Two of which happened to associates of mine.
1. Guy takes his ~2000 Blazer to JL for an oil change. Once finished, he drove off, didn't get far, and the engine seized. Someone forgot to put oil back in.
2. Woman takes her ~1995 Windstar in for a fuel filter change. Once finished, she drove it home and parked it in the garage. Some time passes, and the van explodes. They forgot to fully tighten some fuel lines. Fumes/gas reached the gas hot water heater in the garage (floor level, since house was built before new code).
Crazy.
