Nope not a waste of money, but build your own!
I revised all of mine and replaced the grille with alumininium (or should that be aloominum )mesh fitted 100mm pick ups directly beside the radiator fix to the bottom of the shroud and heat resistant tubing to stock engine intakes.

Drags cold air in well, Add K & N 's rework the internals of your stock engine cover to increase flow and voila a few hours work colder air, better flow and more HP.

BUT remember I am not particularily interested in apperance just power.
Just nmy two bits total cost excluding the filters around A$100

From another thread...............

OK, I got this new MB cover. It must be from a bigger MB engine because it uses larger filters than the SLK320. Since I'm not using the inside filters there is less restriction for air flow. I bought these external CAI and installed them on my new cover, and I have to say that while I have no dyno to prove it, my *** on my seat feels a significant pull on acceleration. I will update my pics soon to include the external filters.
Now all I need is the TVT250 w/o the CAI and this baby baby will improve performance significantly.

FP, can you explain to me what exactly it is that you bought and is that your engine bay? When I go to TVT to get the 250+ done I want to make sure I either get their intake or run mine or the one you have with dual E-rams. I think I like yours.

Go to their website.
TVTdesign.com
Do a search, I'm sure people have said they are very happy with it.

Lets see....$300+ for a piece of pipe? I paid $150 w/shipping for an Eaton M90 supercharger on ebay. $180 for methanol injection kit. $40 for metal to build intake. $120 for air to water intercooler on ebay. $120 for new injectors. and $180 for B.E.G.I. FMU. Its all a matter of opinion. I'd say screw a CAI for $300+.
