Engine, Exhaust, Transmission and DifferentialPost questions here that have to do with the engine, cooling system, air intake, exhaust, Transmission and Differential
LOL... I am not much for engine covers. Mine adorn the wall in my garage. Garage art if you will. I never would take the time to compare CAI. I liked the design of the single and purchased it. I was running 12.8 at the track at the time. I gained a couple of tenths right from the start. Low end was noticeably better. Butt dyno. Later that year I attended the Dream Cruise and Rob updated the roadster to the dual. I went right back out on a quick run up the interstate, and the low end seemed to be even better. That next year at the track we were down another 2 tenths. So, if 10ths of seconds mean something to you, Robs CAI do what they are supposed to do. Improve performance. I think they look good too. What some of you forget, before ROB became so busy, he was at the track running his coupe too. No car guy who is into performance wastes their time or money on something that doesn't perform. The "professor" as I like to refer to him did a lot of testing on the dual before Rob adopted it. I will go with the proven performers every time.
These variations have been on my SSB SRT6 Coupe since 2018. The valve covers have been painted red to add a little color to the engine. I'm receiving many compliments at the local C & C events in my area. I used the two tone light silver/dark silver that was used on the grilles of the 1970/71 Cuda's. The paint comes in a rattle can, sold by Totally Auto located in SE PA. A forum member known as STRYFOX, works at that shop, restoring Mopar muscle cars.

Really nice engine cover....Do you remember what benz model it was or a part number? Does that just fit without any changes...thanks, jeff
If you're asking about the M-B engine cover some of us have on our NA V6s, you can search eBay looking for a cover that fits the R170 Series M-B (you can search using 2000-2004 SLK320 models). That M-B engine cover is interchangeable with the Crossfire airbox. Just make sure you check to see if all the mounting clips are still intact.
Some of us bought these covers new from M-B parts websites over the years. But M-B discontinued offering these maybe a year or 2 back. When I bought mine in 2018, I paid just over $80 delivered from Germany. Airbox came with new filter elements installed.

Which of the two covers are you talking about, I never answered because I did not know. As nobody answered I will ask this time.
Always use the quote option that way we know what the answer or question is.
