Engine, Exhaust, Transmission and DifferentialPost questions here that have to do with the engine, cooling system, air intake, exhaust, Transmission and Differential
Jared, try not to leave the W/W tank cover off for too long. The W/W fluid will dry out and leave a large amount of crusty deposits inside. I totally like the cover! Keep up the great work!
George, I have not drained the catch can yet but due to my mother passing and the fact that my family went in to ROB her belongings I really have not been able to drive the car more than 5 miles I had to work to get the drivers side snorkel to work but it worked well once heated. I will contact the member today about the pully guard. . I am trying to stay busy so I dont do anything that I may regret. Thanks for the help. This forum has been helpful in so many ways . .
Ok, where do I get one of these Crossfire/Mercedes intake covers?

Not sure which airbox you need or want. The picture below is my 2007 Coupe with the NA V6. This airbox is a 1-piece unit that was fitted to the 1999-2004 SLK series.. The amazing thing was I bought this from a M-B parts house "brand new" for approximately $85 delivered to my house, including the air filters. Airbox came from Germany. Now that was probably a couple of years back & these aren't available as NIB (New in Box) units anymore. But as stated by LGV-XFIRE, you can search eBay & find used ones in several configurations. My suggestion is to make sure you can see all the mounting clips on the bottom-side so the airbox will fit securely on your car.
Here's my WIP approach on my way to increasing the air flow intake on my NA. Picked this up from a salvage yard. It's now outfitted with K&N air filters (33-2181). Matte flat black paint & chrome paint and 'fleabay' for a Chrysler logo stick on badge. Already purchased a 74mm throttle body and plan on a Eurocharge tune in the spring. The plan is to dyno the car with the stock setup then do the throttle body, air cleaner swap and Eurocharge tune on the dyno. All I've read on this setup should get 20-25 HP. at the tire. We'll see. I'm not naive but this car is just a blast with the 6 speed. So 20-25 HP will increase the fun factor. 😎
This air cleaner badging is my approach to recognize Chrysler and Mercedes on these Crossfires.

I think the only way you will get it is by buying a model car but it will be a lttle small! It was the original prototype I think and never made it to production in the real car.

What year and model did that airbox come off of? Thanks

Probably a correct perspective. Should have been the Airbox design in the production car. But I'm thinking Chrysler thought it looked to akin to the M-B Airbox found on the SLK 320. So the Airbox evolved to the one that made the production Crossfire. And I'm somewhat sure the Airbox on our Crossfires was a lower cost to produce. They didn't even put the fully detailed Chrysler insignia on the Airbox.

That Airbox is the one that came on the Mercedes-Benz SLK 320, model years 2001-2004. I've got the same airbox on my Crossfire. Bought it new back in 2018 when you could still purchase it from M-B. Cost me all of $85.00 delivered from Germany!! Came with both air filters!!
