Default Schrick Amg Cams

Every once in awhile I remember to post photos of the performance parts installed in my track car... Here's the Schrick cams for the AMG engine before installation. These are part # 35101681-RO & 31501681-LO Retail cost was appx. $2,300 minus a 22% racers discount. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, Schrick told me mine were the last in stock and no more were planned for mfg. I find that hard to believe...

yeah, you throw $2500 at schrick to chuck up some stock in the cnc lathe, and I'm sure they'll start cutting and grinding in no time.

how much longer for a dyno run?

Hello,

how is the idle compared to the OEM-Cams? At which RPM you get benefits from the Schrick-Cams and do you loose power under 3.500 RPM?

Thanks.

I haven't the specs on these and Schricks never posted the duration or lift on thier website. they just listed the NA specs.

SC cams never have idling problems because they detune them for less valve overlapp, mostlikely they have more lift.

And since they are discontinued I'd be willing to bet, the higher lift NA cams are being used forthe SC m112's as an upgrade part, because the NA sport cams has about 1mm more lift.

hardly worth the effort for 1 or 2mm, might as well spend your money on a faster SC pulley.

HDDP, I think if you already have pulleys,Intake,HE,Exhaust they are a good option.

Can you please give me your opinion from your own knowledge about the following points:

Idle compared to the OEM-Cams, Benefits from what RPM? Do you recommend them for everyday use?

Thanks.

I would not install the cams for street use unless you have a tuner who can access your ECU and raise the idle speed. My engine is operated by a MOTEC M600 ECU that is fully adjustable via a laptop. The OEM idle RPM is too slow and needs to be raised 150+

Other than a raised idle im interested in knowing if hp is gained up high and if a low end tq loss is the flip side of installing the cams? And if a raised RPM is a need meaning tougher valve train is necessary.

Don't have a basline dyno on the engine, so I can't give you any hard number comparisons, sorry. I will have a dyno on the full rebuild as soon as VRP "Vadim" delivers the headers that were pre-paid & promised me two weeks ago...

That will be sweet, i almost bought a set of those headers. Refresh my memory as to what setup your running.

SRT6 transplant or turbo m112?
