Default exhaust

has anyone ever tried emptying their exhaust? if so, how does it sound?

I cut mine off and strait piped it, I LOVE the sound of these german v6's

Straight pipe here too...no mufflers...its throaty, thats for sure. Got pulled over again for not having the front license plate on (cops are bored) and he said nothing about the exhaust note...thank god.

I gutted my muffler housing before I decided that it did not go far enough. Removed the muffler , see the picture and look at my gallery for more, great sound, not noisy.

i didn't like how mine sounded removed. too raspy, and very loud. picture any v6 with no muffler, and it fit right in. i added an aero turbine muffler, and it sounds alot more tuned sounding, but still a little loud. i'll be adding aero's resignator eventually to bring the noise down a little more.

performance wise, the car lost alot of low speed power (torque) with nothing there. the aero broght it back, and it feels like it pulls a bit better up top too.

i have the magnaflow 16633 exaust that was on here for $350 ... it sounds nice but isnt loud what can i do to make it louder .. if i remove the 2 cats that are under the car? or is there an easier way?

sorry to say it but I hate the dull sound of wide open exhaust on a v6, auful sound, yuk

Remove then that's what I did, it still passes state inspections and all.

does it make a big difference in loudness?? and did you have to like drop the headers or w/e to get the exaust lower and weld around it..?

Yes much louder. No I just cut then off, then the local muffler shop put on a y pipe on its place. If you got less then 50k miles they can't cut it for you, its illegal. But they can fix it for you .
