Please use the SEARCH function. This has been discussed exhaustively

In short. Mating a S/C to a N/A motor is not overly difficuly until you begin to rework all the elctronics.

Ask ChuckNorris.

Or you end up replacing your lower end because you throw a rod through the oil pan while you're tuning it on the dyno. Been there done that. I used to hate hearing people say sell it and get an SRT6 but it's gonna be easier and less money in the long run even when you factor in taking a hit on your N/A when you trade it in on an SRT6.

If I had to do it over again I would sell the engine and tranny and do a motor swap. Its not impossible to supercharge, just a lot of tinkering to get everything hidden from the ecu. Don't use a conventional water to air or air to air intercooler either. Meth/water injection is a must with 10:1 cr. Until someone figures out how to run a 2bar map sensor with the factory ecu its just not worth it. If I end up keeping my Xfire it is going to get a non MB V8 that has plenty of aftermarket parts/tuning abilities.

The only thing good I can say is that the engine makes a ton of torque and the transmission control adapted very well.

If the Crossfire can be twin-turbocharged, and I think it can if you have a lot of money, how much horsepower do you think it can produce?

I was wondering the same thing about the supercharger. I wish the srt6 came with a 6 speed, I would rather have a stick then have more power though

That depends on how much money you have.

This single turbo should be enough.

Approximately:

440bhp @ 1 bar boost (14.7 psi)
660bhp @ 2 bar boost (29.4 psi)
880bhp @ 3 bar boost (44.1 psi)
1100bhp @ 4 bar boost (58.8 psi)

Now, if you were to modify the N/A hp to 200whp using top-end work, then you could theoretically make:

500bhp @ 1 bar boost
750bhp @ 2 bar boost
1000bhp @ 3 bar boost
1250bhp @ 4 bar boost

I'll be dating Kim Kardashian before someone gets any of those numbers out of an N/A motor that hasn't been seriously reworked.

Don't think I ever posted these. I just built a plenum that bolted to the heads. Very basic but worked well.

Are you able to have the cover on with that supercharger on the plenum

Never tried putting it on. I don't think it would have fit, the clearance was pretty tight between the pulley and hood.

So is that pretty much a bolt on thing? Are you selling it?

Bolt on yes, selling no. I do have several 1/2 inch waterjetted aluminum flanges left over that I used to build mine. I started building manifolds for my turbo project too out of them. I'll probably stack a few together to create longer runners. They are gasket matched. I still have a lot of work to do on them. One day I may find the time and motivation to complete them. Tons of room once the original manifold is removed. My original idea was to mount the turbo like eurocharged did but I think the remote mount is a better idea to keep the temps down. I don't want my turbo to spool until 3k anway. The NA really only suffers from a lack of top end power IMO.

So Chuck Norris, r you gonna attach a turbo to your crossfire or no? Wouldn't your supercharger project have been easier?

I finished the Supercharger and drove it over 7000 miles. Right now my car is back to stock. I'm lacking an oiling system for the turbo and have a lot of other things going on in my life right now that are preventing me from completing it anytime soon. If anyone has a house for rent in Huntsville send me a PM!
