Smile Quieter Magnaflow

Some time back I installed a Magnaflow cat-back system on my 05 limited. I like the system except that it was too loud for my taste. I used the bottom half of a Coke can into which I punched about 6 or 7 holes with a medium size phillips screw driver. I punched the holes into the very bottom of the can. I then inserted a hammer handle into the half of the Coke can and using only medium hand force, drove the bottom of the can into one of the mufflers. It wedged itself into the taper which is about half way up the muffler.

With this can in one half of the Magnaflow, the sound is good. It would be easy to taylor the arrangement to your taste. I originally thought that this would only give me an idea of what change I could make, but, it sounded very good so I did not go any further.

I believe that the automatic transmission also shifts more smoothly. Perhaps a little more back-pressure is beneficial in this regard.

I am not concerned about the flat-out speed where this modification will probably have a negative impact. Normal running does not seem to be hurt.

I was concerned that the can would blow out, however, it has been in there for more than 500 miles and shows no sign of coming out.
