O2 Sensor Replacement
If I were to pay a professional to replace my O2 sensor, how much should I expect to pay? The Auto Zone codes are P2096 and P2098, both say downstream downstream 02 lean. A local place just quoted me $300 and based on what I have read on here, that may be a little steep.
Thanks all!!!
Thanks all!!!
which o2 sensor?
there are two upstream of the cat, 2 downstream.

and as far as replacement. if you can turn a wrench, you can replace an o2 sensor

They are super easy to replace so call around and find out the cheapest place you can get them. This is something I'd do for $20 if you were local to MN but I'm guessing you're not so see if you have a friend that is handy with a wrench and save yourself some money if it's convenient for you to do so. It's a 5 minute job for the dealership once it's up on the hoist and the sensors are about $100 a piece depending on where you get them. If you want to call around and price shop for the best deal, the part numbers you need are:
BOSCH Part # 16123 - Driver side downstream O2 Sensor - $92.79
BOSCH Part # 16276 - Passenger side downstream O2 sensor - $129.79
Just do a search on www.rockauto.com for those part numbers if you want to order them online.

The NA Crossfire uses an O ring for the gasket between the Throttle Body and the intake plenum. If you do not have a good seal, air can leak past it... the O ring could be bad.. or the TB bolts need to re-tightened....
I have about 112k on my XFI and the throttle body was cleaned in the last 6 months by the dealer. About 30k ago, I also had a split weld on the driver side cat which was replaced under warranty.
This morning, I got a P2096 to indicate the downstream was 1/2 lean. From what everyone has seen, whats the likelihood this is a fail(ing) sensor and not a cat going bad? Also, Autozone couldnt tell me which sensor was triggering the fault. Is it obvious when visually examining the sensor when its bad, or should there be a way for the OBD to indicate?
TIA!

Check the throttle body with a hose to hear external leaks. The fact that BOth O2 sensors are out is not the sensors in my book and warrents checking before changing $$$ parts. WOody
If you pay for (4) new sensors an a intake valve o-ring the it's cheaper going to the dealer.
Relacing ome sensor or one o-ring is cheaper if you go to a dealer. T
hat is the problem with shade tree mechanics.

Replace only one o2 sensor.

I just did mine and after a reset, my p-code is gone.
Your obd scanner will tell you which bank and sensor are giving you issues.
