Wasn't the Hemi an option once offered by one of the German supertuners?

Sorry since the Germans quit tuning for the Crossfire they took down all their pages and I have only my memory to go on.

I believe the 6.1 being referred to is the one built by Mercedes, not the Hemi built by Chrysler.

It's interesting that they post the pics of a member's car though..... Tashspop's car is the one posted up with the custom paint job on the LT1 forum......

A friend of mine at Chrysler (Corp., not a dealership) said that they did put a couple of hemis in the XFs. When the MB/Chrysler partnership dissolved they wanted to have it as an option. So they are out there... somewhere.

First time I have ever heard of this, and its too late for an April fools joke. Can you get some more specifics on this? You would think that if there were a Hemi Crossfire anywhere in the world, someone on this forum would know about it.

It sounds like the Brabus Mercedes 6.1 engine

"BRABUS 6.1 S: In addition to the displacement increase of the V8 engine to 6.1 liters the three-valve cylinder heads are optimized for improved mixture flow and fitted with special camshafts. The conversion further includes a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts. The impressive result after the conversion: 445 hp / 327 kW at 6,000 rpm and an enormous peak torque of 635 Nm at 4,500 rpm."

Your memory is good, the tuner was a division of Brabus called StarTech. They did a a 6.1 liter V8 motor in the Crossfire with 426HP and 0-60 @4.7 seconds.

Even back then you have the prejudice against a car by manny z and I'll bet he never even saw one in person

If the pos 6 crossfire is at 35+k. I wonder how much this this thing is going to be? And if brabus is going to do it, expect at least a 50k price tag. I guess if the tune the whole car, suspention, trans, rear end, etc... It could be a alternative to the People that cannot afford a Viper.

Anyway, if someone finds this mystery XF with a 6.1, invite him to STL for the CAA

6.1 L Crossfire engines come complete with a wiring harness, intake manifold, fuel injection system, exhaust manifolds and oil pan.
