smoked by a crossfire!!?? - LS1 Performance Information

Sounds interesting.. anyone know anything about this?

 

It would definetily be interesting to find out who owns that puppy. Also, after reading the thread, I (once again) find it amusing at how much misinformation is propagated about these cars.

 

I especially would like to run into the firebird dude(who has never seen one) and school him on the srt6

 

He would be able to go back to his forum and describe the SRT-6 wing in great detail to his buddies. LOL

 

It is interesting that in the Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, etc. forums they will talk smack about the Crossfires even though they have never driven one, and many have never seen one in person. On the other hand, many of the Crossfire owners have at one point owned most of these cars. I for one have. People love to be haters about cars they know absolutely nothing about.

The misinformation abounds. I have never been on a car forum where another production car was brought up, AND f'n pictures were posted, that someone says he doesn't even know the car existed. I consider myself a car person to the max and have never seen a production car that I had no idea existed, especially one 6-7 years old LMAO.

The guy who said he sees a lot of them around Indy is a crack smoker.

I look for them EVERY day on 10+ mile commute to work and am aware of only a handful around the area.

A 6.1L Hemi in a Crossfire? One would think you'd have heard about this by now if it was true. I'm guessing it was an SRT6 and the "6" is all the person could remember so they put 6 and 6.1L together. If it really did have a 6.1L in it though, that would make for one mean little car though.

 

And with a car that cool you just know he'd be cool enough to be on this forum!

 

I came across this while I was day dreaming of craming a LS1 in to a crossfire....
I did it in a 3rd gen RX7 and a xj... why not in a xfire!

 

That is pretty amazing to hear "a car guy" admit to something like that. Especially (like you said) after the car has been out for 7 years.
I must say, the comments about the Crossfire posted on the LS1 forum were far less misguided, and not nearly as disrespectful as those posted on the Supra forum a while back.
When you think about it though, didn't the OP mention the whole incident occured on a New Mexico highway and ended in a town called Weed? Since that's only about 50 or 60 miles South West of Rosewell, it could have been a simple UFO sighting.

 

Maybe it was a UXFO...

They didn't say anything bad about our cars..They actually knew a decent amount about them. He said clearly its not an srt6 haha.. i think we may have self esteem issues lol.

Only if I had a V8... I'm game for anyone of you guys to take me on. If I lose, well, guess I better eat my Wheaties next time and bring more to the table... If I win though, that's great since you all have a pretty significant weight advantage on me. LOL Maybe I shouldn't eat those Wheaties after all.
